Black saturdays

Simply Black luncheons by Les Amis reverses the convention of food and wine pairing, where sommeliers first pick the wines according to the theme for the week and have chefs create a four-course lunch to match the chosen grapes.

Les Amis’ Simply Black luncheon on Saturday brings back memories of childhood games, where you were blindfolded and had to discern a food fed to you.

The catch is the glasses, from Zwiesel 1872 Gourmet Collection’s ‘The First’ range, are completely black, shutting out any hint of colour from its nectar within. Your nose and tongue work overtime to pick up the nuances with each sip. Is it a red? Or a rosé? The identities of the wines are presented at the end of the meal.

$120. Tel: 6733 2225
