Gather your friends and family for a memorable celebration at Esquina and UNA, or order a superb Gaig at Home meal. Make it an even more convivial experience with copious amounts of chilled cava. And complete your dinner with a typical Spanish Christmas treat – turron – a nougat confection made of honey, sugar and egg white, and studded with nuts.

Una at the Alkaff Mansion

From now till 31 December, experience exquisite Spanish cuisine at Una. This beautiful restaurant at Alkaff Mansion  is serving a four-course festive dinner set menu at $128++ per person (minimum two persons to dine). This special menu is inspired by top Spanish chef Diego Grimberg.

Start with an amuse bouche of Sakoshi Bay oysters uplifted with verjus and sea grapes. This is followed by the first course of red cabbage and beetroot gazpacho with sashimi grade Senrei scallop, jazzed up with charred fig and black olive dust. You will then get to enjoy wagyu beef cheeks with bone marrow served with crispy sourdough and pearl onion.

For mains, choose one of the options: sustainably raised Talavera Iberica pork spare ribs with moutarde sauce, quinoa and wild carrot textures. Or Catalonian seafood stew with crab broth, sofrito, red mullet, clams, parsley oil and togarashi pepper. The final course is Una’s version of turron – nougat cake with raspberry ice cream and hazelnut streusel.

Head Chef Carlos Montobbio’s uni paella is always highly recommended. Tuck into perfectly cooked rice lobster rice topped with naturally sweet Spanish red prawn and Hokkaido uni.

Before your dessert arrives, you’ll also get to enjoy special Spanish cheeses like Tou dels Til·lers, Manchego, Garrotxa, and Retorta Pascualete. This is followed by mulled wine sorbet and Turrón de Yema – traditional Spanish Christmas nougat with egg yolk and caramelised sugar.

Restaurant Gaig

Restaurant Gaig at 16 Stanley Street has rolled out a variety of festive creations that’s perfect for your home celebration. First, choose your favourite dishes, then select your preferred date and time (48 hours in advance), and pick up the order yourself.

The delicious items include traditional Catalan suqet brimming with barramundi fillet, prawn, clams, and seafood sauce, as well as roasted crispy Spanish suckling pig. A must-try is the traditional cannelloni or fresh home-made pasta stuffed with roasted beef and pork, and bathed in rich truffle béchamel. This rendition has been the Gaig’s family recipe since 1869, and it is a Catalan Christmas tradition to enjoy the dish on Boxing Day.

Don’t forget to pick up the festive treat – Three King’s Cake or Roscón de Reyes. Gaig’s version is an oval-shaped sweet bread adorned with candied fruits and sliced almonds, and filled with thick whipped cream. What makes the Roscón de Reyes unique, is that it has two porcelain figurines hidden inside. The person who gets the figurine will be crowned “king” for the day. In Spain, it is traditionally eaten the night before or morning of Reyes or King’s Day (6 January).
