As the Yuletide season approaches, Carlton Hotel Singapore has launched a slew of festive buffets and scrumptious takeaways.
‘Tis the season to be jolly, and already Singapore’s many shopping malls and hotels are starting to sport festive shades of red, green and gold. At Carlton Hotel Singapore, a 14-feet tall fully decorated pine tree and life-sized gingerbread house takes centrestage in the festive lobby, invoking the warm, inviting feel of a traditional Christmas celebration. What’s more, on 24 and 25 December, carollers will fill the lobby with festive cheer, while Santa Claus and Santarina make their rounds for photo taking opportunities.
Cafe Mosaic’s buffet line gets a delicious makeover. Roasted Whole Turkey and Honey Baked Ham are the highlights of the spread along with other Christmas classics like Lamb Chop with Rosemary and Mint Pepper Sauce, Braised Pork Roulade, and Buttered Brussels Sprouts with Winter Vegetables. The Yuletide spread is complemented by the fresh seafood on ice, consisting of oysters, baby lobsters, crayfish, scallops and prawns, and finished with traditional Christmas sweets.
The festive buffet is available at $68 for lunch and $98 for dinner; $58 for lunch and $108 for dinner on Christmas Eve; $88 for lunch and $108 for dinner on Christmas. Returning signatures include the Carlton Classic ($60) and Homemade Hazelnut Chocolate Panettone ($30). The former features moist sponge covered in a decadent dark chocolate cream and a hearty hazelnut praline crémeux, while the latter sees fluffy, moist bread enveloping hazelnut ganache and brandied cherries. Making its debut is the re-imagining of a Chocolate Log Cake ($63) – pineapple and mango is layered within chocolate, and topped with piquant pink peppercorn. For a guilt-free treat, the Black Forest Log Cake ($68) is now alcohol-free and boasts 30 percent less sugar.
