The thing about ardent durian fans is that no matter how much they indulge in the king of fruits, it’s never quite enough.

Goodwood Park Hotel’s Durian Fiesta was made for these people in mind. From 30 May, the Coffee Lounge will introduce a durian-centric buffet (from $35.80) that features a range of durian delights in addition to its regular desserts. The D24 Durian Ice Cream with Rainbow Bread harks back to the old days, when vendors would sell scoops of ice cream in a folded slice of fluffy multi-coloured bread – possibly the earliest rendition of an ice cream sandwich. A live station will also dole out durian pancakes à la minute. At the hotel’s deli, there’ll be six new creations introduced alongside the regular durian fiesta lineup. Among them: durian macarons ($22.45 for 6), mini durian chocolate wafer rolls ($32.10 for 10) and another tribute to local nostalgia, the Mao Shan Wang cream horn ($13.70).
