On the evening of 25 July 2026, Jakarta’s skyline briefly became part of the city’s biggest rooftop celebration. Fireworks burst above the capital while a custom LED display illuminated the façade of Gama Tower, prompting speculation across social media. Many assumed it was a private event or a surprise celebration inside the building. Instead, it was the celebration of renowned Nikkei restaurant and rooftop bar Henshin 9th anniversary at the top of The Westin Jakarta.
The spectacle formed the finale of House of Temptation, a four-day anniversary programme that explored the different elements that have shaped Henshin over the past nine years: food, cocktails, music, and nightlife. The closing evening brought together guests for a rooftop celebration with performances by DJ T-Sha and DJ Miss Lee, alongside signature cocktails and panoramic views across the city. As night fell, the fireworks and synchronised LED installation extended the celebration beyond the restaurant itself, making Jakarta’s skyline part of the occasion.
The approach reflects how Henshin has evolved since opening. Over the years, the venue has become known not only for its Nikkei cuisine – a meeting point between Japanese technique and Peruvian flavours – but also for creating rooftop experiences that combine dining, cocktails, entertainment, and the city’s highest vantage point. The anniversary was therefore conceived less as a retrospective and more as a thank-you to the guests, partners, and community who have supported the restaurant since its opening.

The fireworks and LED display, he added, were intended as a shared experience that could be enjoyed not only by guests inside the venue but also by anyone who happened to look up at the skyline that evening.

Alongside its signature Nikkei menu and cocktail programme, the restaurant continues to build evenings around music, culture, and moments that leave an impression long after dinner ends. The ninth anniversary celebration captured that ambition perfectly, transforming one rooftop milestone into a city-wide spectacle that reminded Jakarta why Henshin remains one of its defining dining destinations above the skyline.
