Chef Wong Chee Ken Brings Hong Kong Cuisine to LIN

LIN Chinese Restaurant at Hotel Tentrem Jakarta begins a new chapter with the appointment of Executive Chinese Chef Wong Chee Ken, who joined the restaurant in June 2026. Known for its refined take on contemporary Chinese dining, LIN has quickly built a name in Jakarta’s dining scene, recently earning notable F&B awards.

Chef Wong arrives with more than 20 years of professional experience, shaped by a career focused on Cantonese gastronomy and Hong Kong-style Chinese cuisine. Originally from Malaysia, he has worked across luxury hotel kitchens, including leadership roles in central Jakarta, where he built his reputation around traditional technique, premium ingredients, and a strong understanding of Chinese dining culture.

At LIN, his direction is centred on food that feels both polished and nourishing. A key part of the refreshed menu is a selection of traditional Chinese herbal soups, slow-cooked with premium Chinese herbs and free-range kampung chicken. These dishes follow time-honoured recipes, drawing from the belief that Chinese cuisine is not only about flavour, but also about balance, restoration, and wellbeing.

Beyond the soups, Chef Wong expands the menu with classic Hong Kong-style delicacies, prepared with the precision and restraint associated with Cantonese cooking. Rather than leaning heavily on spectacle, the new direction focuses on clarity: clean broths, careful seasoning, refined textures, and ingredients treated with respect.

“Authentic Chinese cuisine is built upon respect for tradition, ingredients, and the wellbeing of those who gather around the table,” said Chef Wong. “At LIN Chinese Restaurant, I look forward to sharing the timeless flavours of Hong Kong while introducing dishes that nourish both the body and the soul.”

His arrival strengthens LIN’s position as one of Jakarta’s key destinations for Cantonese cuisine, pairing the restaurant’s elegant setting with a deeper culinary point of view. For diners, the new menu offers a reason to return: familiar Chinese flavours presented with heritage, control, and a quiet sense of occasion.
