The inaugural edition brings together Chef Eling Payana of The Warung and Chef Glenn Erari of Jakarta’s acclaimed Semaja, presenting a refined multi-course menu inspired by Indonesia’s rich culinary heritage.

Limited to just 40 guests, the collaborative dinner explores the archipelago’s diverse flavours through contemporary techniques while remaining deeply rooted in tradition. Chef Eling, long recognised for his thoughtful interpretation of Balinese and Indonesian cuisine, joins forces with Semaja’s modern culinary philosophy to create an evening that celebrates craftsmanship, storytelling and a shared passion for Indonesian gastronomy.

Bar Takeover at Alila Villas Uluwatu this July

The celebrations at Alila Villas Uluwatu continue on 21 and 22 July with the second edition of Indonesia Finest Bar Series at Batique, the resort’s intimate speakeasy-inspired cocktail bar. Following the successful debut of the series, this latest chapter welcomes two of Jakarta’s most celebrated drinking destinations: The Bottom Parlour and The Cocktail Club Jakarta.

The collaboration features renowned bartender Ronny alongside Bottom Parlour co-founder Uncle John, who will showcase signature cocktails created exclusively for the occasion. Their menus highlight inventive techniques, layered flavours and the evolving creativity that has helped place Indonesian cocktail culture firmly on the regional stage.
