COMO Shambhala Estate is introducing Move with Purpose, a morning programme that links movement and mindfulness with community impact. Running on Saturday, 23 May 2026, the event sits under the COMO Challenge Grant, the group’s CSR platform built around purposeful experiences and local engagement.

Set in the cultural highlands near Ubud, the Estate’s open-air wellness pavilion provides the backdrop: rainforest canopy, fresh air, and the ambient sound of rivers and springs. The core session is Mat Pilates, created in collaboration with Billy Pilates and led by senior coach Maliana Xin alongside the Estate’s resident Pilates and yoga teacher, Mins Teo. The pace is designed to be steady and technique-led, focused on alignment and controlled movement rather than intensity for its own sake.
Mins Teo brings more than a decade of international experience, with a background spanning ballet and contemporary dance, a degree in biomedical science, and certifications that include Clinical Pilates and yoga. Maliana Xin is trained in STOTT Pilates and specialises in Scolio-Pilates, with an emphasis on mobility and long-term body mechanics. Together, their shared brief is clear: help participants move well, reset posture, and leave feeling more grounded than when they arrived at COMO Move with Purpose Pilates.

After the class, the morning continues with a curated community bazaar featuring local brands and partners supporting children’s literacy initiatives across Indonesia. The focus is practical – raising awareness and funds for access to books and educational resources – while keeping the atmosphere light and social.
COMO Move with Purpose Pilates runs from 6.30am to 11.00am, positioning it as an early start with a clear arc: movement first, community second, then time to linger. It’s a format that suits the Estate’s wider approach – wellbeing as something you practise, not something you only visit.
