This Valentine's Day, take your romance to new heights (literally) or indulge in an Italian feast, in these top dining venues in Jakarta.

GIA

When it comes to a classic Valentine’s Day date, you can’t go wrong with an Italian touch. This year, GIA is calling all lovebirds to enjoy the four-course “Mio San Valentino” dinner (Rp850,000) by Chef Tommaso Gonfiantini. The menu starts with an Aragosta e Burrata appetizer, which plates Brittany lobster, burrata cheese, caviar and puffed rice crackers, followed by Linguine Pasta served with beetroot, hazelnut and buffalo ricotta. For the the main course you can either go with a Wagyu Beef Short Ribs balanced with beet leaf, cauliflower and pickled mustard, or a Black Cod Fish with beet leaf, cauliflower, capers and anchovies. The sweet finish is a Mascarpone Mousse served with rhubarb and strawberry compote, meringue and beet crumble.  Due to limited capacity, advanced booking is recommended.

Gran Melia

Celebrating the most romantic day of the year, Gran Melia offers a variety of dining destinations to make your day. If your partner is picky with food, fear not, for at Café Gran Via, executive chef Ingo Oldenburg has prepared a special buffet menu showcasing plenty of international favourites accompanied by romantic tunes, beautiful flower arrangements and other love-themed paraphernalia. Available at Rp355,000, some of the dishes you’ll get to taste include Alaskan Crab, Oysters House Smoked with salmon and Sturia caviar and Roasted Lamb Racks.

For a more East Asian spin, Yoshi Izakaya Japanese Restaurant will be transformed to a dreamy venue to host an intimate four-course dinner that includes delicacies such as a selection of Zensai Sanshu and Chicken & kinoko foilyaki Soup. Available for only ten lucky couples at Rp788,000 per person.

SKYE

Enticing couples with a magnificent view and the promising theme of sky high romance, rooftop bar and eatery SKYE offers a tantalising four-course dinner crafted especially for Valentine’s Day by executive chef Hamish Lindsay. Available at Rp950,000 per person, the menu starts off with a King Tiger Prawn tempura with avocado gel and salmon caviar, Crab Ravioli with parmesan and polenta espuma, followed by your choice of  main course – choose between the Black Cod Fillet with beetroot barley risotto and asparagus salad, or the Wagyu Tenderloin 5+ with potato dauphinoise and gorgonzola cream. End on a sweet note with the Valrhona Chocolate Fondant with mixed berries, raspberry gel, with strawberry and red wine ice cream.  Free-flow wine is available at an additional Rp350,000 per person.

Swiss-Belhotel Mangga Besar

Joe’s Grill at Swiss-Belhotel Mangga Besar is offering a romantic Valentine’s set-menu dinner at Rp750,000 per couple, where you can indulge in dishes such as Pan-seared Scallop with Pineapple Salsa, French Kiss Onion Soup, Seared Norwegian Salmon with Green Curry Risotto and Lemon Butter Sauce, or Grilled Australian Sirloin Steak with Garlic Mashed Potatoes & Ratatouille, and Chocolate Brownies Fudge Amour. On this romantic day, Joe’s Grill will also have a live acoustic and saxophone band playing love songs from 7PM to 10PM. A buffet option is also available at Rp375,000 per person.

The Valentine’s Day dining offers at The Dharmawangsa Jakarta include a romance-themed buffet dinner at Jakarta Restaurant and The Courtyard (Rp595,000 per person), which will have delectable selections, such as Norwegian smoked salmon station, organic beef rib eye, and a number of international cuisines. For a more elevated dining experience with your soulmate, take the four-course Love is in the Air package at the Pool Garden. Available at Rp5,988,000 per couple with only three available tables, the package includes a live violin performance, private butler and chef just for you, as well as a bottle of Nicolas Feuillatte champagne. If alcohol doesn’t appeal to you, The Journey of Love package is a beautiful non-alcoholic package which starts you off at the pool garden for cocktails and amuse bouche, followed by a four-course dinner at the elegant Sriwijaya.
