DAOU Vineyards Brings Paso Robles Wines to Asia

California’s DAOU Vineyards is expanding into Southeast and North Asia, introducing its portfolio of Paso Robles wines to a growing audience of collectors, enthusiasts, and fine dining destinations across the region. The move marks a significant step in the winery’s international growth, bringing one of California’s leading luxury wine estates into markets that continue to shape the global wine landscape.

Founded in 2007 by brothers Georges and Daniel Daou, the winery has played a central role in establishing Paso Robles as one of California’s premier wine-producing regions. At the heart of its success is DAOU Mountain, where limestone-rich soils – often compared to those found in Bordeaux—create favourable conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varietals. The result is a portfolio known for combining richness with structure, producing wines that have earned recognition among collectors and critics alike.

The Asian expansion introduces three of the estate’s signature collections. The DAOU Paso Robles Collection highlights the diversity of California’s Central Coast through fruit sourced from long-standing grower partnerships across the region. The DAOU Estate Collection focuses on the winery’s finest vineyard blocks on DAOU Mountain, with wines matured in custom-crafted French oak barrels to showcase the estate’s distinctive terroir. At the pinnacle sits PATRIMONY, a collection of Bordeaux-style wines produced in the Adelaida District, representing the winery’s highest expression of site and craftsmanship.

Beyond the vineyard, DAOU has also become part of contemporary culture. Its estate has hosted notable occasions, including actor Taylor Lautner’s engagement, while partnerships with the Santa Barbara International Film Festival have placed the winery alongside figures such as Timothée Chalamet, Selena Gomez, and Ariana Grande. These collaborations reflect the brand’s positioning at the intersection of fine wine, lifestyle, and popular culture.

In Indonesia, DAOU wines are now available through selected Red & White Wine & Spirits stores, Minuman.com, and Kapitall, as well as restaurants including Lawry’s The Prime Rib Jakarta and La Réserve partner venues such as Taste Paradise, House of Yuen, and Altitude. The wines will also be available at selected luxury hotels and restaurants across Jakarta, Bali, and Surabaya, making the collection more accessible to both seasoned collectors and diners exploring premium Californian wines.

While the expansion broadens DAOU’s global reach, the winery remains firmly rooted in Paso Robles. Its focus continues to be on expressing the character of DAOU Mountain through wines that balance power, elegance, and a clear sense of place. For Southeast and North Asia, the arrival of DAOU introduces another important name to the region’s growing fine wine scene – one that pairs California’s evolving wine identity with an audience increasingly interested in provenance, craftsmanship, and premium dining experiences.
