Accor Run For Hope 2026 Raises Support for Children in Bedugul

More than 1,400 participants gathered at ITDC Nusa Dua on 31 May for Accor Run for Hope 2026, a charity initiative aimed at supporting underprivileged children at A Trust For A Child (ATFAC) learning centre in Bedugul. The inaugural event brought together families, corporate partners, and team members of the participating hotels, demonstrating how a shared commitment to giving back can extend beyond the finish line.

At the heart of the day was a 5km fun run designed for participants of all ages and fitness levels. The event, organised by Accor hotels across Bali and Lombok, also featured children’s entertainment, face painting, colouring activities, games, live performances, community booths, fundraising raffles, lucky draws, and a best costume competition, transforming the charity run into a family-friendly gathering with a broader social purpose.

“Accor Run for Hope is more than just a race – it is a platform for collective impact,” said Jan Kroeckel, area general manager for Bali and Lombok. “Every step taken by our participants helps open doors to education and opportunities for children who need them most.”

Proceeds from the run will support ATFAC’s Sanggar Bedugul, helping provide access to education, creative development programmes, nutritious food, sports facilities, and other essential resources. Founded by Accor Indonesia in 2001 and operated by Yayasan Peduli Tunas Bangsa, ATFAC works with underprivileged children and their families through after-school learning and community initiatives. The foundation currently operates learning centres in Cipinang, East Jakarta, and Bedugul, Bali.

The event was spearheaded by Area General Manager Bali Lombok Jan Kroeckel alongside Area General Manager Bali Lombok Ravi Khubchandani, General Manager of Mercure Bali Legian Florent Michaud, General Manager of Novotel Bali Nusa Dua Bilal Chamsine, General Manager of Mercure Bali Nusa Dua Ketut Iriana, General Manager of Mercure Bali Resort Sanur Yoesi Bagus Taruna, and General Manager of The Grand Seminyak Bali Igor Raicevic.

Supporting the initiative were ITDC, Diversey, Accor Vacation Club, BCA, and Icon Cancer Center. I Made Agus Dwiatmika, general manager of The Nusa Dua, noted that the event reflected the synergy between sport, tourism, and social impact while reinforcing Bali’s position as a destination for quality and sustainable tourism.

Reflecting on the outcome of the charity event, Florent Michaud as the chairman of Accor Run for Hope 2026 said “We are deeply grateful for the continued support from the community. The funds raised will directly impact the lives of many children and help them achieve their full potential.”

As Accor’s first Run for Hope concluded, the initiative demonstrated how a community-led run can translate collective participation into meaningful support for children in need.
