There are countless ways to experience diverse cuisines. In Bali’s evolving culinary landscape, finding a restaurant that truly connects with authentic culinary heritage is a continuous quest, as nearly every dining spot offers an immersive experience. At Andaz Bali, authentic dining experience is defined not only by the flavours but also by the personal experiences and lives of those behind the offerings. Not just one restaurant, but two of its restaurants anchor authentic experiences in the lead chef’s childhood memories, local communities, and fresh regional produce, inviting guests to pull up a chair and taste stories told through food.
Hansik Korean BBQ at Alun-Alun – Village Square

Led by Chef Min A, who has been part of the resort for over two years, this interactive experience beautifully embraces the hansik philosophy – the traditional Korean way of eating. Rooted in bold flavours, communal dining, and time-honoured techniques, guests are invited to gather over premium meats and side dishes grilled directly at the table. While the menu focused purely on classic, traditional dishes that encourage interaction and shared moments when it first launched back in 2024, it has since blossomed into a deeply personal narrative. Today, the restaurant serves as a canvas for authentic dishes shaped by Chef Min A’s childhood memories in Busan.

A standout highlight is the Dongnae Haemul Pajeon, a crisp Busan-style seafood pancake with prawn, squid, scallion, and chili that pays homage to the historic Dongnae district. Guests can also indulge in her specially curated House Menu – serving curated selections of crowd’s favourites from the past two years, alongside a Savoury Pancake selection featuring Kimchi Jeon and Chicken Pancake. Complemented by King Prawn Tempura and rich Black Pork Dumplings, the restaurant offers an authentic culinary narrative reinterpreted for all to experience every Wednesday to Sunday from 6pm.
Fisherman’s Club

For those drawn to the sea, Fisherman’s Club delivers a masterclass in freshness, simplicity, and community connection. The beachfront restaurant delivers authentic Jimbaran-style seafood, bringing a beloved island tradition to the serene east coast. At the heart of the experience is a live seafood tank where guests are invited to select their own catch-of-the-day. These fresh catches come directly from local Sanur fishers, reflecting the daily ties between the local community and the ocean’s natural bounty.

Grilled over open flames, the seafood arrives accompanied by vibrant housemade sambals and classic sides, allowing the natural sweetness of the catch to take centre stage. As afternoon softens into evening, the atmosphere transforms into a romantic seaside escape, complete with live violin performances and happy hour selections. Ultimately, this seaside restaurant proves that an authentic dining experience is also attainable with depth when food is bound directly to the local community.
