Row for R.O.L.E Bali Returns with Paddle for Purpose

Row for R.O.L.E returned on 25 April 2026 for its fifth edition, bringing a community of paddlers to Bali’s coastline in support of education, women’s empowerment, and environmental efforts. Hosted by Grand Hyatt Bali, Hyatt Regency Bali, and Andaz Bali in collaboration with the R.O.L.E Foundation, the event centred on a 13-kilometre canoe journey from Sanur Beach to Nusa Dua.

A total of 88 paddlers took part across single, double, and paddle board divisions, with fundraising reaching IDR 846,299,154 (USD 48,995). The event’s message – paddling with purpose – linked sport with long-term impact, particularly through support for Bali WISE, the R.O.L.E Foundation programme that provides six months of training in hospitality, tourism, English, and practical job skills for young women from across Indonesia.

Organisers noted that the Bali WISE approach goes beyond classroom learning by covering essentials such as accommodation, meals, and a living allowance during training. The wider results are sizeable: the release states that more than IDR 4 billion has been raised over the past four years, supporting nearly 400 young women towards financial independence and stronger career prospects.

This year also introduced an online auction tied to the event, featuring hotel stays, dining experiences, spa treatments, and activities across the island, with proceeds supporting skills training for women from underserved communities. The programme sits within Hyatt’s wider World of Care commitment, linking community support with on-the-ground participation.
