· 14 June 2023
Two culinary maestros from Capella Ubud, Bali and Singapore's Labyrinth restaurant join hands to present an exclusive dinner at Ubud Food Festival 2023.
The island of Gods is bringing back the most-awaited gastronomic long weekend celebration where all can revel in exquisite dining experiences with renowned chefs joining hands behind the scene. This year, Ubud Food Festival 2023 will take place on 30 June to 2 July 2023, a three-day feast where everyone is welcome to discover the gastronomic creations of top chefs from Indonesia and beyond. For one night only, Capella Ubud, Bali and Labyrinth present a special dinner on 1 July 2023 at Mads Lange, a mere twenty-minute ride from the main festival’s venue.
Come with an empty stomach as chef-owner LG Han from Labyrinth and Capella Ubud’s executive chef Nicola Russo are serving eight-course tasting menu of Asian-inspired meals and contemporary Singaporean cuisines. Having your tastebuds spoiled is an understatement while dining here, as both chefs have amassed profound recognition for their skills and craftsmanship in the gastronomic scene.
Chef LG Han is the talent and owner that led his brainchild restaurant, Labyrinth, to become a six-time Michelin-starred restaurant with his innovative take on Singaporean cuisines with a modern touch. There are many dishes that Singaporeans grow up eating, but he offers them with his own unique take.
As a locavore champion, he engages closely with the farmers and fishermen from whom he sourced his ingredients. His relentless endeavour also put the restaurant on the eleventh rank of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023, the ninety-seventh rank of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023 along with other accolades.
Like chef LG Han, Capella Ubud’s Italian chef Nicola Russo prefers to serve his creations using indigenous produce from neighbouring farms and the sea. He spearheads the resort’s culinary attractions, Mads Lange and Api Jiwa, where freshly-made Asian fares with full-bodied flavours are warranted.
Having to learn the culinary maestros’ background, expect dishes like Chili Crab and Prawn Noodle Soup on the menu. The collaboration dinner by Capella Ubud, Bali, at Ubud Food Festival 2023 will be held from 6pm – 10.30pm with three sessions. The first session will start from 6pm – 7.30pm, the second session from 7.30pm – 9pm, and the last session from 8.30pm – 10.30pm.
Diners will be ushered in with an aperitif at the campfire before experiencing the dinner at Mads Lange’s eclectic jungle-themed tented tables. The event costs Rp1,900,000/person for the eight-course dinner, and wine pairing is available with additional charges.
The event won’t accommodate dietary requirements with the set menu.
