Indonesia’s burgeoning craft spirits scene has earned international acclaim, as two standout products—Nusantara Cold Brew and East Indies Gin—took home new medals from two of the world’s most respected spirits competitions: the London Spirits Competition and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2025.

Nusantara Cold Brew, an Indonesian cold brew coffee liqueur, was awarded a Silver Medal with a 90-point rating at the London Spirits Competition. Judges praised its smooth, expressive aromas of dark roast coffee and bitter chocolate, along with its “excellent balance between sweetness and roast bitterness,” and a “rounded mouthfeel and lingering finish” that sets it apart in its category.

Meanwhile, East Indies Gin, produced by Spice Islands Distilling Co. in Keramas, Bali, captured multiple accolades at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The Archipelago Dry and Banda Spiced won Silver Medals while the Bali Pomelo Pink was awarded a Bronze Medal.
Each gin highlights the unique botanicals of the Indonesian archipelago. The Archipelago Dry is celebrated for its clean, crisp, and timeless profile, while Banda Spiced impresses with warm spices and earthy undertones that linger aromatically. The Bali Pomelo Pink, with its juicy citrus notes, captures the vibrant island spirit of Bali.

These awards for Nusantara Cold Brew and East Indies Gin mark a significant milestone for Indonesian craft spirits, proving they can hold their own on the world stage while supporting Indonesia’s talented bartenders and their award-winning bars with locally-made premium spirits.
