Taking its name from the lotus flower – Lián (莲) – a symbol of purity, harmony, and enduring family bonds, Li Lian is imagined as a warm and welcoming multi-generational home. The design unfolds in distinct yet interconnected spaces: an elegant entrance, a breezy verandah framed by panoramic city views, a dedicated tea bar, two intimate living rooms, and six private dining rooms thoughtfully curated for celebrations, family gatherings, or business occasions.

The atmosphere is understated yet sophisticated, balancing contemporary luxury with the nostalgic warmth of Cantonese hospitality.

At the helm is Executive Chinese Chef Tan Kwang Aik, whose two decades of experience span award-winning luxury hotels and MICHELIN-starred kitchens. His culinary direction honours the essence of Cantonese cuisine – clarity of flavour, precision, and balance – while embracing modern sensibilities and sustainable sourcing.

A standout highlight is Li Lian’s traditional Peking duck, meticulously prepared by Duck Specialties Chef Victor. Roasted over rambutan wood, the duck emerges with delicate smokiness and crisp lacquered skin, a technique that elevates its flavour profile beyond the classic.

Chef Tan’s signature creations further illustrate his refined approach. From Wok-fried Wagyu Beef Tenderloin M8 with Yunnan trumpet mushrooms and asparagus in black pepper sauce, to Smoked Marble Goby finished with caramelised soy and Poached Tiger Grouper Fillet in a nuanced broth of pickled cabbage, chilli, tofu, and fish.

Supporting the gastronomic repertoire is Dim Sum Master Chef Huang, who presents the Li Lian Signature Dim Sum Platter, a curated expression of craftsmanship and delicate technique.

Anchoring the restaurant’s philosophy of warmth and connection is the tea bar – a serene corner celebrating Asia’s tea culture. Here, guests can explore a selection of fine teas chosen to complement the menu’s subtle and layered flavours.

Guiding the front-of-house experience is Restaurant Manager Jerry Choo from Kuala Lumpur, whose vision for Li Lian is deeply personal. “It feels warm, familiar and comforting, a place where guests can enjoy family dinners, gatherings, date nights or simply a good meal.”
