COMO Hotels and Resorts celebrates a major milestone with the full reopening of COMO Metropolitan Bangkok, unveiling a complete redesign that ushers the 22-year-old hotel into a sophisticated new era. Long regarded as one of the Thai capital’s most understated urban sanctuaries, the property reemerges as a vibrant contemporary landmark in the heart of Bangkok’s Central Business District.

At the centre of this transformation is Italian designer Paola Navone, whose work marks her second collaboration with the brand in Thailand after the acclaimed COMO Point Yamu in Phuket. Her vision for the 137 rooms and suites captures a modern Thai sensibility without falling into pastiche – a balance of local materials and playful contemporary gestures. Expect the warmth of wood and stone, ceramic accents, and Navone’s signature bursts of colour, including touches of vivid Buddhist orange.
In the lobby, textured stone counters echo temple masonry, while patterned bamboo wall panels reinterpret traditional Thai screens. Sunlight shifts across marble surfaces and oversized woven details, creating a quiet luxury that feels both rooted and refreshingly current.

“With our urban properties, I’ve always wanted to create hotels with spirit, which are dynamic and design-forward,” shares Christina Ong, founder of COMO Hotels and Resorts. “But they also need to be elegant and exceptionally comfortable – places where our guests can retreat from the city to enjoy a pared-back, almost meditative simplicity.”
That duality – city energy and serene escapism – is thoughtfully woven into the hotel’s culinary and wellness offerings.
On the ground floor, nahm, freshly awarded its eighth consecutive MICHELIN star in 2025, continues to be one of Bangkok’s most compelling culinary destinations. Under Chef Pim Techamuanvivit, the restaurant offers an expressive, deeply researched exploration of regional Thai cuisine – a choreography of sweet, salty, hot, and sour that remains essential dining for gourmands.

For something more relaxed, COMO Cuisine makes its Thailand debut on the hotel’s second floor. Developed by Culinary Vice President Daniel Moran and Group Executive Chef Amanda Gale, the all-day menu moves effortlessly from wholesome salads and broths to comforting classics and family-style dishes. The restaurant also extends the brand’s celebrated COMO Shambhala Kitchen, presenting nourishing plates and energising juices crafted with wellness principles at their core.
Anchoring the hotel’s philosophy of restorative urban living is the newly refreshed COMO Shambhala wellness centre. With 10 treatment rooms, a yoga studio, hydro pool, and gym, it delivers a tranquil counterbalance to Bangkok’s tempo. The 25-metre pool and Navone-designed communal spaces invite connection – yet privacy and calm remain central to the experience.

The reopening introduces a new series of Iconic Experiences, designed to guide guests into the cultural, creative, and culinary undercurrents of the city. The highlights include a private fashion tour with Club 21, showcasing curated menswear and womenswear across select Bangkok boutiques. And another one is a sommelier-led exploration at Monsoon Valley Siam Winery, where guests gain insight into Thailand’s evolving terroir and the wines now featured at the hotel’s dining venues.
For COMO Hotels and Resorts, the reopening marks a strategic evolution of its city properties. “We now have five urban hotels, with two in London, and one in Perth, Singapore and Bangkok,” says CEO Olivier Jolivet. “They all share a careful balance of public style and private calm.”

With its refreshed design, elevated dining, and thoughtful approach to modern luxury, COMO Metropolitan Bangkok steps confidently into its next decade – an urban retreat reimagined, and a renewed invitation to rediscover Bangkok with clarity, creativity, and calm.
