Raising the bar

September kicks off with a fresh breeze behind the restaurant’s bar counter, where Dewa Buda Arsana steps in as the new head mixologist. With a style rooted in storytelling and culture, Arsana brings the flair of Italian cocktail craft to every pour and shake – elevating the dishes and adding a dash of creativity to the counter. On his debut, he spotlights three signatures worth a sip: Tropiconi, a tropical spin on the Negroni with pineapple and honey; Sorrento Spritz, a reimagined classic with homemade limoncello; and White Noise, a playful blend of peach and white chocolate foam that leans creamy yet fruity.

Cocktail lovers across the island can also slip behind the scenes of Arsana’s craft in one of the September events at Amici by Enrico Bartolini. Starting 24 September and running every Wednesday, he’ll host an intimate Cocktail Class priced at IDR 400,000/person. Limited to just 10 participants each session, the class opens the door to Italian aperitivo culture and bartending techniques, complete with hands-on practice. Every guest will be welcomed with a cocktail, then shake up two creations of their own, before heading home with recipe cards and a keepsake to remember.

Arsana brings Italian aperitivo culture to his creative blends

This September, Amici by Enrico Bartolini also raises a glass to one of the most-anticipated global events: Negroni Week. Guests can sip on three exquisite blends, each available at IDR 185,000/glass. Guaiava Americano brings together Campari, vodka, and dry vermouth with a tropical lift of guava, sakura syrup, and tonic water. Tropiconi offers a sunny twist, marrying pineapple honey with Campari, gin, and sous vide sweet vermouth. For something more layered, Pioggia di Settembre captures the season in a glass with Campari, gin, grapes, carrot cordial, apple shrub, elderflower, and lemon.

With the chef, by the chef

Executive Chef Enrico Bartolini is set for a two-day showcase, bringing his personal flair to an intimate dinner and gathering. On 20 September, the chef will host The Enrico Bartolini Experience, a five-course dinner paired with Il Borro Toscana premium wines, limited to 70 guests. Priced at IDR 1,750,000/person, with an additional IDR 750,000 for wine pairing, the evening begins at 6.30pm and promises a refined epicurean journey.

The following night, guests can join the Meet and Greet with Executive Chef Enrico Bartolini, also at 6.30pm. This private soirée, priced at IDR 500,000/person, includes free-flow canapés, wine, and cocktails for an evening of conviviality with the chef himself.

Beyond the home events, September also brings collaborative affairs for Amici by Enrico Bartolini. On 12 September, Head Mixologist Dewa Buda Arsana will stage a bar takeover at Club Lounge at The Blue Door, Ubud, presenting three vodka- and gin-based creations from 9pm. Later in the month, on 26 September, Arsana teams up with Head Chef Alessandro D’Amico for a kitchen and bar takeover at Bosa Semarang, blending flavours and craft in a spirited out-of-town collaboration.

For those in Bali who prefer to stay close to home, Amici by Enrico Bartolini has lined up a September treat or two. On the sweet side comes Sorpressa al Pistachio – a pistachio mousse layered with raspberry gel, white chocolate, and vanilla sponge – crowned as the Dish of the Month at IDR 130,000/piece. Keeping pace is the Cocktail of the Month, Cucú Mela, where tequila, cucumber, and apple carbonation strike a refreshing chord, available at IDR 170,000/glass. To round out the experience, the restaurant also presents a curated Cuban Cigar Menu, ranging from soft spice to delicate floral notes, designed to pair beautifully with the Italian delicacies.
