SHICHIRIN SEMINYAK
Expect a delightful teppanyaki dining experience when you book at Shichirin. Following Ubud and Canggu, but with a new menu, the Seminyak branch pays homage to Japanese culture through heartfelt touches. Picture a moon sculpture as a nod to the tsukimi moon-watching ritual, as well as interactive clay handcrafting and origami folding. Start with classic sushi, sashimi, or nigiri, before moving on to signature dishes such as Black Cod, a tender saikyo yaki miso marinated delight served with goma-ae salad, crispy rengkong, and gobo chip; teppan-style Chicken Teriyaki served with salad and sesame dressing; and tare-glazed, braised Beef Short Ribs with asparagus and truffle mushroom puree. Open daily from 7am to 10pm.

PAPAREMPA
Located within Noema Resort Pererenan, this restaurant is a celebration of Indonesian flavours with a modern culinary flair. Expect dishes from the archipelago’s local ingredients and food culture in a jungle-inspired space that seats 78 guests. The two-storey space offers plenty of breathing space, whether guests dine at the indoor or street food-styled outdoor area. Highlights are Falafel Oncom (fermented soy beans, hummus, kemangi salsa), a Balinese-inspired Samsam Guling (roasted pork belly, star bean salad, coconut sauce), and Lombok Short Ribs (smoked beef short ribs, morning glory, roasted chilli, and candlenut sauce). Pair the dishes with cocktails made from Bumbung Coconut Arak such as Tabia Bun and Selai Kacang. Open daily from 11am to 10pm.

YEN SOCIAL
Hailing from Singapore, Canggu’s stylish yakiniku dining destination offers dry-aged beef, stellar starters, and a solid collection of Japanese spirits as its mainstays. The sultry interior provides an intimate space for a social dining experience, as diners gather around their table to witness their Ox Tongue Thick Australian Wagyu and Japanese Wagyu Striploin A5 grilled on charcoal to perfection. Opt for the Chef’s Selection to taste several cuts fit for two, four, or six people. Delicious Asian starters such as Kimchi Roll, Seaweed Soup, and Wagyu Fat Fried Rice are perfect for sharing. Hojicha Yuzu Highball and Umeshu Tonic Reduction signature cocktails will enhance the feast, while connoisseurs are welcome to imbibe a glass of The Chita from the Japanese whiskey selection. End the evening on a sweet note with Caramel Yuzu Cake. Open daily from 5pm to 11pm.

SALTED OLIVE
A passion project of a married couple and their best friend, Salted Olive brings something refreshing to Jakarta’s ever-evolving dining scene: modern Mediterranean cuisine. With one of the owners’ Middle Eastern background as its blueprint, the trio opened shop at the now rejuvenated Grand Wijaya Center.
It serves contemporary and artisan interpretations of classic Mediterranean dishes, such as Roasted Chicken and Grilled Beef Cheek (marinated in apple glaze for 24 hours). Coming here means being prepared for shared plates and exceptional dips. Opt for Lamb Arayes (grilled lamb pockets) or Caramelized Carrots and enjoy them with the house signature Salted Olive or Muhammara (walnut and roasted paprika) dips. End your night with the fantastic Pistachio Crème Brûlée—yes, it tastes as delicious as it sounds. Open daily from 11.30am to 10pm.
