The new luxury resort, located in Canggu, Bali, opens on 1 February.
Last April, epicure ran a Bali supplement in which we waxed lyrical about the charms of Canggu, calling it “an under the radar nook that straddles the line between California cool and all-out ritzy”. Now, COMO Hotels and Resorts is launching its latest property, COMO Uma Canggu, on 1 February, adding another chic factor to the once sleepy surf town. If rolling waves, sandy white beaches, the ocean breeze and warm rays of sunlight sound like heaven to you, you’ll want to travel to Bali’s south coast.
COMO Uma Canggu will boast a total of 119 accommodations, including rooms, suites, one- and two-bedroom residences, as well as 12 three-bedroom duplex penthouses. The latter will feature individual rooftop pools and arched entrances meant to frame the horizon, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows to take in the stunning ocean views. Some rooms will also feature courtyards and outdoor showers, while all guests have access to the outdoor 115-metre-long pool, with its undulating edges mimicking the cascading waves on the beach. Opening rates start from US$200/night. Jalan Pantai Batu Mejan, Echo Beach, Canggu, Badung 80361. Tel: +62 361 3022228
